Zebra boy flees from Ohio....
along the way he finds his stripes.

Upon the next ridge he saw beneath a light dusting of snow a travelers back pack tied together with rope to keep It’s contents held tight from popping out. The Unicorn stopped and stamped her hooves on the ground until Montgomery finally understood it was for him. Undoing the rope from the sack a huge animal skin unraveled from the tight ball. In the grey of the day and his cold state Montgomery at first could not make out what it was, only that it had ears and a familiar pattern. Bending down he then saw the stripes, zebra stripes! Spiraling around two eye holes and down its back. He had always loved zebra’s since he was old enough to walk. Shivering he instinctively put on the zebra skin atop his head, wrapping the rest round his for torso and shoulders and then stood up. It was heavy, warm and transforming. Now with his body was covered in zebra stripes as he once again marched onward behind the unicorn. His trusty journal still clutched at his side. For miles branches and leaves collected falling snow. In front of him and behind, rows and rows of pine trees trees stood like soldiers awaiting orders to attack.
